Witchtrap
I'm a big fan of Kevin Tenney's Night of the Demons and Witchboard , so checking out Witchtrap (1989) when I stumbled across it on Amazon Prime was a no-brainer. Tenney's films are generally a tremendous amount of fun, and Witchtrap is no different. Witchtrap tells the story of a group of parapsychologists investigating a haunted hotel. It's pretty cheesy, but that's part of the film's charm. It also features some impressive (and gooey) special effects, my personal favorite being a shower head that punctures a victim's neck. Linnea Quigley is a delight in a small role, and although not all of the acting is stellar, James W. Quinn ( Witchboard ) charms in the lead role. He occasionally reminded me of Bill Murray in Ghostbusters , with his deadpan line delivery and cocky swagger. I definitely recommend this one for 80's horror fans, especially those who've already enjoyed Tenney's other work.
